Our nuts are always a huge hit! Hehe Old Bay seasoning is a Maryland summer staple.
The seasoning is a mix of mustard, paprika, celery salt, bay leaf, black pepper, crushed red pepper flakes, mace, cloves, all spice, nutmeg, cardamom and ginger! Damn! Let's coat our nuts, shall we?! Ingredients 1 egg white 2 tbs water 1/4 cup sugar 1/3 cup of Old Bay seasoning 1 pound of raw cashews Preheat oven to 250 degrees. In a large bowl, beat egg white and water for a least 3 minutes, until foamy.
Slowly add all the sugar and 2 tbs of Old Bay Seasoning...if you add all the Old Bay the egg whites will deflate. Slowly fold in cashews and mix until well coated. The goal is to keep it foamy. Less mixing, the better. Spread on a baking sheet and bake in the oven for about 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
The first time you stir, add the rest of the Old Bay seasoning...or more! The more the merrier!
